Intimidation, Threats, and Violence
Are your workdays filled with insults, humiliation, and disrespect? Has your employer threatened not to pay your wages or to have you deported? Are you a victim of physical or sexual violence?
The employer has no right to threaten you or take advantage of your vulnerable situation as a foreign worker. They have no power to withhold your pay for work you’ve done or to deport you. You have the right to work in a fair, friendly, and respectful environment. If you feel mistreated, you have the right to seek help from the Estonian Social Insurance Board’s counselling line.
If any form of violence occurs in the workplace – physical or sexual – report it immediately by calling the emergency number 112. Violence is not tolerated in Estonia and is punishable by law. Help is available – tell us about your situation!
